Braddan Parish Commissioners are holding an event for prospective candidates standing in Braddan in the Local Authority General Election on 24 April 2025.

There will be two sessions, one before and after the next Public Meeting of the Authority on Thursday 27 February at The Roundhouse. The first session is at 1pm and the second at 6pm. Attendees will be able to:-

• Chat to existing Commissioners to find out what the role entails and their experience of being a Braddan Commissioner

• Find out the current challenges facing the authority

• Discover the issues on the horizon that will affect Braddan Commissioners both over the next period of office and the longer term

• Speak to the Clerk and Deputy Clerk/Finance Officer with any questions you may have about standing as a candidate or the authority

• With the completion of The Roundhouse, this is an exciting opportunity to get involved at the heart of your community and make a difference at a grassroots level

• The deadline for the submission of nomination papers is only a few weeks away on Wednesday 26 March 2025

The Local Authority General Election on 24 April 2025 will see 5 people elected to the Board of Braddan Parish Commissioners, to serve for a term of 4 years.

Local Authorities play an important role in local democracy and Braddan covers a strategically important area with an annual turnover of £2.8 million.
