Braddan Parish Commissioners recently had the pleasure of welcoming His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor and Lady Lorimer and their shadow, Aaron Crellin to The Roundhouse in Braddan.

The purpose of this special visit was the official opening of the new Clear Pharmacy located at The Roundhouse and meet the other business owners.

The opening of the pharmacy included Colin Johnson founder and Chairman of Clear Pharmacy, Chief Executive, Mrs Karen Smyth, Finance Director Robert Smyth and staff. The 16th Clear Pharmacy on the island is ideally positioned to serve the Palatine Group Practice, Nobles Hospital patients and the wider island due to it’s central location.

The Commissioners then escorted their visitors on a tour of the building, calling in to Aalid Feie Beauty, The Roundhouse Café, Regent Dental Care, J S Lifestyle Gym, Little Cherubs Nature Nursery, and Baby Sensory Isle of Man where His Excellency and Lady Lorimer met the staff and were shown around each of the businesses.

Next on the agenda was a Paracise Class run by Donna Whalley, held in the fantastic new sports hall. Paracise is a low impact exercise to music class which helps improve mobility, balance and coordination. Weekly classes are held on Thursdays at The Roundhouse at 2pm and are proving extremely popular!

The visit concluded with a very enjoyable afternoon tea with Braddan Commissioners, catered by The Roundhouse Café.

Commissioners’ Chairman Neal Mellon remarked:

“We were delighted to welcome His Excellency and Lady Lorimer to The Roundhouse after their previous visit to what can only be described as a building site in October 2022!

I would like to thank His Excellency and Lady Lorimer for their support and encouragement for our community centre and we look forward to hosting them again in the future.

The official opening of Clear Pharmacy is a milestone for Braddan Commissioners and The Roundhouse.

The beauty of The Roundhouse is how well all the businesses and facilities complement each other, with a focus on community, family and well being and this visit has really highlighted that.

Braddan Commissioners are very proud of their building, bringing together the whole community, under one roof.”
