Our Vision

We aim to build a Parish that is vibrant, welcoming and forward‑looking — a place that protects its heritage, values its environment, and supports the wellbeing of everyone who lives, works or visits here.

Our Principles

These values guide everything we do:

Openness Integrity
We work transparently and share information unless there is a clear reason not to. We act fairly, honestly and without discrimination.
Accountability Value for Money
We take responsibility for our decisions and actions. We use public funds wisely and plan for long‑term financial stability.

 Our Five Strategic Priorities

1. A Great Place to Live, Work and Visit

We want the Parish to be clean, safe and enjoyable for all.

We will:

  • Keep public spaces clean and well‑maintained
  • Support events that bring people together and boost local business
  • Provide a welcoming community space at The Roundhouse
  • Help deliver affordable homes for people who need them

2. Strong Services for a Strong Community

We will deliver high‑quality services that support wellbeing and economic growth.

We will:

  • Improve and regenerate our built environment
  • Provide services that promote health, safety and wellbeing
  • Support a diverse and thriving local economy
  • Work closely with businesses, government and community organisations

3. Good Governance and Financial Stability

We will run the Commission responsibly, transparently and sustainably.

We will:

  • Deliver value for money in all services
  • Promote the importance of democracy and civic participation
  • Support and develop our workforce
  • Support and develop income generation for the Parish

4. A Connected and Inclusive Community

We want everyone to feel part of Parish life.

We will:

  • Support community groups celebrating culture, heritage and creativity
  • Encourage open, two‑way communication with residents
  • Build positive relationships between commissioners, staff, MHKs and the public
  • Represent the community on consultations, planning matters and committees

5. A Greener, More Sustainable Parish

We are committed to protecting and improving our environment.

We will:

  • Maintain and enhance green spaces and biodiversity
  • Promote sustainable transport and active travel
  • Reduce our carbon footprint and help others do the same
  • Lead by example in environmental sustainability

How We Will Measure Progress

To ensure we stay on track, we will monitor:

  • Resident satisfaction
  • Service quality and response times
  • Environmental improvements
  • Financial performance
  • Community engagement
  • Delivery of key projects

We will publish regular updates so the community can see how we are performing.

Working Together for Our Future

This Strategic Plan sets out our commitment to building a Parish that is safe, sustainable, inclusive and full of opportunity.

We look forward to working with residents, businesses and partners to make this vision a reality.
